Outside class at the Farmhouse

When the weather is suitably hot we hold some classes outside. Everyone really enjoyed our class under the shade of the trees at the Farmhouse Hotel, in the heatwave week at the beginning of September 2021. Some of stayed for coffee and even for lunch afterwards.

The 'Perfect Breath'

Over the last 5 weeks I have been attending Ben Wolf’s breathing workshop. One of the main things to come out of this work shop is the “Perfect Breath “ otherwise know as the 6/6 belly breath. This breath if done for 20 minutes a day is said to oxygenate all the cells in your body to their optimum level, encouraging healing.

James Nestor’s book ‘Breath The New Science of a Lost Art’ talks about this and the HUGE importance of nasal breathing. Mouth breathing is so bad for our overall health. If you are interested in knowing more sign up to one of my classes this term.

A London doctor gives advice on relieving breathing difficulties from Covid-19. I have linked the copy which has been provided by the BBC to ensure that this has the credibility of the BBC behind it.

Good breathing technique is a basic principle of Yoga, even for when we are fit and well. I include various elements of breathing technique in my classes, and you can continue to practice these at home when convenient for you.

Beautiful relaxation

I am grateful that we are here in this beautiful island of Guernsey for the lockdown. So happy to feel the warmth of the sunshine on my skin. So good for our mental health to take some exercise out in the fresh air in beautiful surroundings.

As noted on the Classes page, I am trying to get as many classes as possible online. There is quite a bit to learn and set up so I shall begin by inviting people to join some test sessions.
