General Class Information

Please remember these general principles

Respect your Body

Yogalates is a low impact, low risk exercise system, but it's important that students are aware of any physical limitations they may have and prevent any injury. Avoid pushing yourself too hard and overdoing it, especially if you have restrictions that may affect your practice or are recovering from an injury.

Clothing

Wear comfortable, loose clothing which allows free movement, particularly in the hips and shoulders (e.g. a t-shirt and stretchy leggings) and avoid restrictive clothing. Wear layers which you can remove as you warm up and add back on as you cool down and for the relaxation at the end of class. Bare feet are usually best but warm socks are useful for relaxation at the end of the class.

Hydration & digestion

It’s important to stay hydrated so please have your own bottle of water available during the classes.

Avoid eating too much or too late before a class. It is best if you restrict yourself to no more than a light snack, piece of fruit etc, for at least an hour before classes.

Mats, blocks, bands etc

For regular classes you will need a yoga mat, resistance band (or yoga strap), blocks and a towel or cushion to use behind your head, please bring your own if you have them.

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 I am unable to lend out yoga mats, blocks or resistance bands during classes however I do have these items available for purchase. Bolsters may also be purchased but must be ordered in advance.

Mobile phones

If you must bring your phone to class please make sure it is on silent or airplane mode.

If you are on call and need your phone with you please have your device on vibrate and only answer it outside the room, after you have left as quietly as possible.
